Vehicles:
We have eight modern bespoke piano trucks, ranging from 3.5 tonnes – 32 tonnes. All are equipped with insulated bodies, carrier temperature controlled units, extra large tail lifts and tracking units. They also have the added benefit of being fully alarmed and even have CCTV in the load areas.
Temperature control:
Temperature control is often overlooked, but it is vital when transporting pianos. If a piano is collected from a warm environment and placed into a freezing cold truck this will cause the piano to contract and expand, causing internal parts to condensate and moisture to set in which will lead to rusting of the internal workings. It is very important when delivering concert grands to their venues that they do not arrive cold because they then cannot be tuned properly. A similar problem can arise in the summer months with humidity. So our vehicles are fitted with full temperature control and are kept at a constant temperature of 19C.
Moving equipment:
Piano Logistics has invested heavily in buying its own equipment. We have a vast array of moving equipment: a lot of it designed by ourselves. Our grand shoe offers extra protection for your piano, floors and stairs whilst our vehicles are equipped with floor protectors and a selection of piano moving trolleys for different surfaces and floors. Piano Logistics also owns a large collection of grand and upright quilted covers in all sizes.
