Key points that set Piano Logistics apart from other carriers.

Q
My Household movers say they can move my piano no problem.

A.
Yes the estimator probably has every faith in his staff and he wants your move, only the moving staff will not be so confident, I would be more impressed if the estimator said we will use a piano specialist.

Q
Why I should I use Piano Logistics and not a general house mover
A.
Experience, equipment and our guys are more moving technicians than hired mussel, we are specialist piano movers, moving pianos day in day out, If you asked our guys to do a house hold removal they could probably could do it but not very well, its not our game.

Q
Another piano moving site states they are kite marked and a member of the OFT are piano Logistics Kite marked and OFT members.
A.
No these are house-hold movers and they belong to the BAR or movers guild, the BAR are a great organization and one that stands up for your rights when moving house, a company pay's to become a member of BAR for us it is not worth it as we only move pianos and they are geared to full household moves, once you are a member of BAR the rest OFT etc are given as standard, but if you are going to use a household remover we would recommend you use a BAR registered company.

Q
I live in London and have been told I need to pay for a road closure to crane my piano in is this true?
A.
This maybe true, if you if you need to block the public highway. Depending on what council you have you may need a partial closure or a full road closure. We recommend that we view the access first to determine the best way in.

Q
When applying for a partial road closure in Westminster the council states for any crane move they need public liability cover over £5 million do you have this?
A.
Yes we have public liability cover over £5 million.

Q
Do you have a high turnover of staff?
A.
No most of our staff have been with us for many years.

Q
What would be the price to move a piano and why does it vary so much from company to company
A.
The difference in company cost I cannot answer but I guess it is to do with the overheads of the company. A man and a van service would charge less then a company like ours, he's not as well equipped and you may have a problem dealing with someone constantly on a mobile phone and carrying out the work at the same time, we charge a basic handling charge, add on mileage after thirty miles and other extras are stairs, cranes etc all is listed within our quotation.
A.

Q
Are you fully insured
A.
The one question that is hardly ever asked by any customer is are you insured, the answer to this is yes for everything because our customers are more important than a quick saving on insurance.

Q
Are your staff security vetted?
A.
Yes our staff undergo strict security checks for deliveries to royal and government venues. This is a question that should be asked more frequently as these men are in your home.

Q
Other companies state they have heated trucks but you say you are the only UK company to have heating?
A.
We are the only company to operate a temperature controlled insulated fleet of trucks, even our smaller vans have heating. The vehicles we have are insulated and have full air conditioning, we used to use just heaters but they are hard to regulate the heating setting, either to hot or to cold and where un-reliable.
