We have six bespoke vehicles made to our specifications, ranging from 3.5 tons to 18 tons. All are fitted with insulated bodies, temperature control systems, and full-length tail lifts. All vehicles are alarmed and have satellite-tracking systems.
One of our vehicles is fitted with a 24-meter lorry loader crane with fly jib. This allows us to place a piano directly into a room as high as the sixth floor, if the window is large enough. We are the only company in the UK to operate a vehicle to this specification.
We only use equipment that is of the highest standard. We update our vehicles on a regular basis, ensuring the best reliability possible and latest engines possible. All are euro 4 & 5 which are better for the environment and run on 20% bio fuels, we have just ordered an electric lorry for our London deliveries.
Temperature
control is very important when transporting pianos. If a piano is collected from a warm environment and placed onto a freezing cold truck this piano will contract and then expand when it arrives into a warm destination, causing internal parts to sweat and moisture to set in. As pianos are constructed from many different materials this causes the piano to go out of tune and could result in long-term damage. It is vital when delivering concert grands to venues that they do not arrive cold, as they cannot be tuned properly, thus rendering the piano at a disadvantage for the concert or recording. There is a similar problem in the summer months with humidity, so our vehicles are fitted with de-humidifiers and are at a constant temperature of 19 degrees Celsius.
Over the years all removal companies have used grand piano shoes (slippers) from an old general design. Because we only transport pianos we had to totally redesign the equipment used, and our grand shoe offers extra protection for your piano, floors, and stairs. We also have a vast supply of grand and upright covers of all sizes. All vehicles are equipped with floor protectors and a selection of piano moving trolleys for different surfaces and floors.
We have a few machines to help us, a piano plan piano mover which can take pianos up and down outside stairs a Klavier roller which can move a concert grand with just one man and a manual lifting machine which can lift a piano up to 27ft
